This January, we had our annual Inventory Day. This is an important event because we
check all our gear so we can repair or replace as needed. We spent about five hours
going through everything in our storage closet.
Our first meeting in January was cancelled due to 8-9 inches of snow. There was a
zoom meeting for those interested in a winter Northern Tier trip a year from now.
Our actual first meeting, we had another AOL night, attended by two AOL’s. We planned
meals for the Klondike Derby and had a cold weather info session for the upcoming
campout. For the rest of the meeting we had fried oreos and games.
The final weekend in January we had our Klondike Derby campout at Camp Snyder.
The Klondike Derby is an Alaskan goldrush themed campout put on by the District. For
most of the day, the scouts went around competing at stations where they were
awarded points for scout skills, leadership, and scout spirit. We had a closing campfire
where the awards were handed out. Troop 150’s Shark Patrol got 2 nd place overall!
