July is finally here, and we all know what that means! There are 2 very important and very long events that took place this month. The first one is Goshen, which many new Scouts went to, and had an amazing time, even if it was their first one. We also won the Honor Oar on the first day, and won Troop of the Week! This also gave a chance for older Scouts to show their leadership skills, (like August who was the guide and helped the younger Scouts a ton), and let the whole Troop prove that 150 is the best one out there! Although it was quite a busy week, with many events packed near each other, (like the astronomy hike and pirates breakfast), everyone seemed to have a spectacular time. The second event was only available for 12 Scouts that are all 13 years old or older. It also included 4 adult advisors! What I am talking about is the treacherous Northern Tier, which will be a strenuous 9 days camping and canoeing, along with a few extra days for travel. (In total 12 days.) That’s because it takes place up in Canada! It was a very impactful trip for all Scouts who went, including me. It gave everyone who went a new sense of their limits and emphasized the importance of persistence and perseverance. Overall, July was a great month for more challenging events to help take Scouts to a higher level!
