Turtle Express: July 2026

This past month in Troop 150 has been filled with summer fun! At the beginning of the month, we spent our time preparing for Goshen. Then, we had an awesome week at Camp Bowman at Goshen, where we earned merit badges that range from shooting sports to motor boating, we also enjoyed campfires, and built stronger bonds within our patrols. During our time there we won the honor oar twice this has never been done in troop history before, and if you didn’t know troop of day is awarded to the best campsite score that day. We also got the highest award you can get there, which is troop of the week. We all had an amazing time and learned so many things.
On July 20, we had a troop meeting where we worked on navigation and first aid requirements. This gave many of our younger Scouts the opportunity to make progress toward rank advancement. At our most recent meeting, on July 27, we continued working on map and compass skills while also completing additional first aid requirements.
To wrap up the month, we went on an exciting campout where we experienced whitewater rafting and visited the National Scouting America Jamboree. The Jamboree is the largest gathering of Scouts in America and is held only once every four years. Scouts had the opportunity to participate in activities ranging from mountain biking and BMX riding to patch trading, making it a memorable way to end an amazing month.
