Turtle Express: June 2026

This month was the second full month of our term, and during this time we’ve prepared for our upcoming trip to Goshen Scout Reservation Camp Bowman. Some of the ways we have prepared are by teaching fire-building skills, along with packing and staying healthy, even in the summer heat.

Our most recent campout was the Army Museum/Gunston Hall campout. Before that, we also had a nature reserve campout where we fished, kayaked, and completed a service project to help benefit the nature reserve. We also learned about the history of the area.

Along with this, we received some exciting news that we, as a troop, will be able to participate in the America’s National Parade. Coming up very soon, in just a few weeks, we will be going to Goshen Scout Reservation Camp Bowman, where we will cook over fires and earn new merit badges. This will help bond our troop as a whole, make our patrols more functional, and teach our Scouts important lessons.
