During the month of March, Scouts participated in Pack crossover events and the Astronomy/International Campout. This month was tons of fun for Scouts and adults. During the Pack Crossover, Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts came together to help the Cub Scouts become official Boy Scouts. Troop 150 has now increased in size, which is great for everybody. These new Scouts will join the Phoenix Patrol and will soon be able to choose what patrol they join.
At the Astronomy/International Campout, Scouts first arrived late in the evening, so they quickly set up tents and dining fly’s and hit the bed. The next day, Scouts woke up to make breakfast quickly so they could leave for their 8 mile hike. Scouts then enjoyed the hike and took a break to eat lunch. After the hike, Scouts came back to the campsite to make dinner from a country that they were assigned. All of the patrols were competing to see who made the best dinner. All of the adults were the judges in this competition. The countries that were assigned include: Nigeria, Jamaica, Thailand, Spanish, and Lebanese. All of the dishes that the Scouts made were delicious. That night, Scouts had telescopes and looked at the stars. Many Scouts enjoyed it. After looking at the night sky, everybody needed rest so they all went to bed. The next morning, Scouts made breakfast and started to take down all of the equipment that they brought. After the Scouts cleaned everything up, they loaded into the cars which they arrived in and left, heading back to AUMC.
