May, the first month of the summer 2020 term, was full of fun Zoom meetings with many unique activities. The first event of this month, a troop meeting on May 4, Scouts voted on who they wanted to lead their patrol for the next six months while the new Scouts took a Cyber Chip class. After the patrol leader elections, we received a demo on how to make an origami flower for Mother’s Day. This meeting ended with a Star Wars themed Scoutmaster’s moment.
A week later, during the second meeting of the month, we wrote letters to a retirement home. People in retirement homes really appreciate letters, especially since they don’t have many visitors during this time period. Anyone, including you, can write a letter. It only takes a couple of minutes, and you can send one to the address below if you wish.

Scouts also had a rock-paper-scissors tournament where the Eagles patrol took the victory. After the meeting, a mandatory leadership training took place.
On May 18, Scouts were given the privilege to receive a cooking lesson on meatball subs by Scoutmaster Emeritus Wood.
We were also given the opportunity to begin the Public Health merit badge with Dr. Palmer.
On Memorial Day, our troop had an informal meeting, which gave time for Scouts to work on requirements, talk, and play games.
