In October 2020, we held SPL elections during one of our virtual troop meetings. The Senior Patrol Leader (SPL) is the youth in charge of making the Troop function – he is the head Scout. These SPL elections were important as the nominated Scout will lead the Troop until May 1, 2021.
The SPL nominees gave speeches on why they thought they would be the best fit for the position. Since only one Scout can become SPL, a virtual poll on Zoom was set up. At the end of the meeting, the results were announced! The newly elected SPL and his staff will begin their term on November 1.
At another virtual meeting, our uniforms were inspected and scored using this checklist since we began wearing our Class A uniforms again this month. We also played a Kahoot!
During this month, home patrols have met with the Phoenixes (new Scouts) in order to get to know them, teach them certain requirements, and show them why they should join their patrol.
Throughout this month, we have been doing two different fundraisers, which are listed below. All of the earned money supports Troop activities, merit badges, awards, and the many fun things we do.
a) Clothing Fundraiser – In total, Troop 150 collected and delivered a total of 3,941 pounds of clothing and soft household goods. That is a lot of gently used items that we helped our community get out of their homes and make available to others for purchase at a discount. In our COVID-19 world, this is truly a service to others.
b) Wreath Sales – Each year, Troop 150 sells 22″ Noble Fir wreaths from Sherwood Forest Farms. For just $22, you can get an amazing, long-lasting, wreath for the holidays.
If you missed our wreath sales or clothing drive, clicking on the ad below also supports our Troop.
