Turtle Express: October, 2025

Big news from the Sharks Patrol (best patrol in the galaxy)!

–26th October 2025–

The Sharks Patrol of Troop 150 hosted a patrol-wide event, which was definitely a great success. Together as a patrol, on a beautiful autumn Sunday in October, we took a day trip and we went to the Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, to reflect on and appreciate our veterans’ brave and selfless service to our country. We took this to the next level by having four of our specially nominated and selected Scouts of our patrol (Kiet, Dylan, Henry, and Samuel) to participate in the very honourable wreath laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. This is not just a simple gesture of respect for one soldier; it is a tremendous thank you for the many soldiers that died serving our country whose bodies could unfortunately not be identified. By having four Sharks participate in this honourable ceremony, we are paying a very deep respect to those who have served our country and we will be remembered in a good light by the spectators of the ceremony as a whole Troop 150, glorifying our entire troop.

The event was very well planned out thanks to the meticulous coordination of our Patrol Leader Samuel Preylo, Assistant Scoutmaster Andrew Taylor, and designated event planner + tour guide Kiet Tran. Our transportation choice was excellent, as we saved the environment, reducing carbon emmissions, by using the Metro rail system to travel back and fourth between the Arlington Cemetery. In the meantime before and after our extrordinarily honourable wreath laying on the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, we also had an amazing and very informative tour with plenty of intriguing history, stopping at many points of interest all throughout the whole cemetery to learn about each of them, led by our tour guide Kiet Tran.

Ultimately, this was such a wonderful and honourable experience for the Sharks Patrol, from the train ride to the cemetery to the wreath laying to the final minutes of the tour, each one of our Shark Scouts had a blast and came home knowing that they did their Good Turn Daily.
